The stories of love and romance are evergreen. Then these stories should be shown and told on any platform, the audience and listeners listen with great affection and chatter. Yes, it gets more air when it comes to a special day like Valentine's Day. To capitalize on this opportunity, director Imtiaz Ali took 'Love Aaj Kal' to the audience.
According to the name of the film, one of the 1990s and the other of the 2020 era was shown to narrate its story. The love story of the two eras runs concurrently which leads to complexity. According to the story, Joi (Sara Ali Khan) is a modern-day modern girl. Her priority is to make a career, while love-love and friendship with boys is her time pass. Joi meets programming engineer Veer (Karthik Aryan). As the first love, Veer considers Joi to be special in his life, but when Veer refuses to let us go to bed by telling him to be special, this thing passes on to Joi and she breaks the relationship.
Despite this, Veer keeps on chasing Joi. Where Joi works, he also goes to work there. Joi's boss is Raghu (Randeep Hooda). Raghu narrates his love stories to Joi and tries to show that Veer is very special for Joi. Meanwhile, the love story of a 1990s youth is also going on. It is complicated to understand these stories going on simultaneously, but it also creates great confusion.
In the film, Karthik and Sara are everything from lovemaking and kissing scenes to the audience who are drawn to the cinema. But because of the complicated story and poor scripting of the two ages that go along, it is difficult to understand the difference between the love of today and tomorrow. This is why spending 141 minutes in theatres for entertainment seems boring. It is obvious that from 1990 to 2020 there has been a big difference in love-romance and people's thinking, which is also seen in the real to reel life. If this distinction was shown well, then things like love and kissing would have added to the film. Talking of songs, despite having good lyrics, they do not add any connection to the story.
However, the actors cannot be doubted when it comes to acting. Karthik Aryan, Sara Ali Khan and Randeep Hooda performed well. In the film, Randeep has not got a chance to do more than tell the story. Newcomer Aarushi Sharma, who plays Leena more than these stars, looks good. Despite the low dialogue, he has made every effort to revive his character. See the film or not ...
