Xiaomi launched Redmi 8, the latest smartphone of the Redmi 8 series in the Indian market on Wednesday. The company has launched two variants of this. Its 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant costs Rs 7,999, while the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant costs Rs 8,999. The first cell of the phone will start from 12 noon on October 12. It can be purchased from Mi.com, Mi Home and Flipkart.

At the launching event, Manu Jain, CEO of Xiaomi India said that the company has remained India's number one smartphone company for the last two years. To celebrate this success, the customer will be able to buy the first 50 lakh units of Redmi 8 (4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage) for Rs 7,999.

SPECIFICATIONS

• The phone has a dual rear camera setup. It has a 12-megapixel main camera equipped with a Sony IMX363 image sensor, along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

• The camera offers AI scene detection and Google lens support. Along with this, there is an 8 megapixel AI camera for selfie.

• The phone has features like fingerprint scanner (back panel) and face unlock for safety.

• The phone has a 5000 mAh battery. It has many AI features that increase battery life. Its most special thing is that it has a USB Type-C charging port. It supports 18 W charger, however the 10 W charger is available in the phone box.

• The company has given the Aura mirror design to the Redmi 8. It is available in Spire Blue, Ruby Red and Onix Black color. The phone is splash resistant and is rated P2i.
