Prayagraj Former Union Minister of State Chinmayananda (73 years), accused of sexually abusing a law college student in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been decided by the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad to expel him from the Sant Samaj. However, this will be stamped in the presence of representatives of the Akhada at the Akhara Council meeting to be held in Haridwar on 10 October. After his arrest on Friday, the court sent the Chinmayanand to jail till October 4.
Akhand Parishad President Mahant Narendra Giri said, "On the one hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has raised the saint's head. At the same time, Chinmayananda humiliated the Sant Samaj by his act. This act is not only scandalous but also unforgivable. After this there is no justification for calling Chinmayananda a saint. This has damaged the prestige and dignity of the saint society. Saint society is hurt by this matter. ''
Chinmayananda was the Mahamandaleshwar of the Maha Nirvani Akhara. He also played an important role in the Ayodhya movement. In January 1986, he became the convenor of the Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan Sangharsh Samiti. In 2011 too, a woman from the ashram accused her of sexual exploitation.
In fact, the All India Akhada Council, which was hurt by the Ram Rahim episode, had prepared to crack down on fake saints. The Council said that the so-called Babas who play with the faith of the common man and tarnish the dignity of the saints will have to be exposed in the name of the saint-mahatma, Baba. The list of fake babas was released after the council meeting.
The student posted a video and accused Chinmayananda
On August 24, the student made serious allegations against the owner Chinmayananda by making the video viral. After this she went missing. The Supreme Court took cognizance when the matter came under discussion. Police recovered the student from Rajasthan and produced it in court. This was followed by SIT investigation orders. Meanwhile, some videos went viral on 10 September. The student accused Chinmayananda of rape. A kidnapping case has also been filed on Chinmayananda on 27 August. While Chinmayanand's lawyer Om Singh had filed the case on August 22, accusing him of demanding extortion of five crore.
